It's more like an ongoing thing, but I digress.
My algebra teacher is moronic, and not just because I don't like her. She literally cannot teach. I'm being absolutely serious. This woman has been getting complaints from her students since the day she started working at my school. Why is she getting such a bad rep? We're unable to learn due to her teaching methods, and I use that term very loosely. It's more like she shoved a bunch of numbers and formulas into a jar, shook them up, and then poured it onto our desks and said, "This is algebra."
For one thing, a lot of students are missing entire sections of notes because of her. Like during this current lesson, 3rd period, the class I'm in with her, has section 6.2 part A notes but no 6.2 part B notes, and 5th period has section 6.2 part B notes and lacking 6.2 part A notes. When we confronted her about this, she swore that she gave us all the notes. It's mind boggling how she's convinced herself of this.
A second thing is that she refuses to teach us more complex problems. During note-taking, she'll give you 5x + 10 = 0 to practice with. You'll say, that's easy, x = -2. But then she gives you the test and it's filled with problems like 45x^9/2 (76y+4) = 451, causing your brain to explode from the inside out. She wonders why her classes make such bad test grades.
The last major thing is that her rules seem to be as much of a clusterfuck as she is. A few months back, we had (miraculously) ridiculously easy homework. A classmate went to her and asked if we didn't have to show work, and she said yes. Mind you, this was a worksheet, so we had no way of getting the answers. So about 3/4 of the class came in the next day with all the answers and no work on their papers. She gave us all 0's for not showing any work.
Her teaching legitimately offends me. I feel offended that my intelligence has to be insulted like this, first by teaching me and giving me the tools to solve only moronically simple problems, then shoving complex equations down my throat and demanding I solve them for a major grade that counts 5 times more than usual. Oh, yeah. She does that too.
